Live Art Books, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the (Shimomura Kanzan Exhibition), which will be held at The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo from March 17 (Tuesday) to May 10 (Sunday), 2026.
This major retrospective exhibition presents a comprehensive look at the work of Shimomura Kanzan (1873–1930), an artist who helped pioneer a new direction in Japanese painting during the transition from traditional to modern art. Kanzan’s artistic achievements through important works and the latest academic research.
The exhibition will be held in the Kanto region for the first time in 13 years and will feature notable works including the Important Cultural Property (Yoroboshi).
After the Tokyo exhibition concludes, the exhibition is scheduled to travel to the Wakayama Museum of Modern Art, where it will run from May 30 (Saturday) to July 20 (Monday, National Holiday), 2026.
